How to make 1M, 0.1M, 0.00N, etc solutions of HCL
3.5M HCl can be used to make any lower strength solution of hydrochloric acid using the following formula where M is the desired strength (molarity / normality). V = volume to be made.
36.45g/mol x M (mol/L) x V (L) x 10
example to make 100mls of 0.01N HCL
= 36.45g/mol x 0.01 (mol/L) x 0.1 (L) x 10
= 0.365g of 10% HCl should be diluted to 100mls with water.
