Industrial Bleach


Sodium Hypochlorite, commonly known as Hypo with the chemical formula NaOCl is a powerful cleaner, disinfectant and bleaching agent. Highly effective at destroying bacteria, fungii, molds and algae it is used in many industrial and domestic bleach products. It is a yellow/green liquid with a strong chlorine odour. Sodium hypochlorite has many industrial and commercial applications including water treatment, Swimming pool chlorination, removal of moss, mold and algae, pulp and paper manufacture and agricultural sanitisation especially in dairies.

Using Sodium Hypochlorite in the Dairy Industry

Circulation Cleaning of dairy equipment:
For circulation cleaning of milking equipment using PureChem Cold Wash, add Red Label Hypochlorite to the prepared Cold wash solution at a rate of 100ml/40L (4fl oz/10 gal)

Circulation Cleaning of dairy equipment:
For circulation cleaning of milking equipment using PureChem Cold Wash, add Red Label Hypochlorite to the prepared Cold wash solution at a rate of 100ml/40L (4fl oz/10 gal)

Hand Washing of dairy equipment:
For hand washing dairy equipment using PureChem All Purpose Detergent, add 3ml/L (0.5 fl oz/gal) of Red Label Hypochlorite to detergent solution.

Final Rinsing of dairy equipment:
For final rinsing by circulation or after hand washing add 25ml/40L (1 fl oz/10 gal) of Red Label Hypochlorite to the cold rinse water and rinse off the detergents. This essential where mains water is not available.

Poor Quality Water
To treat poor quality water add Red Label Hypochlorite at a level of 25ml/40L (1 fl oz/10 gal).

 

Health & Safety:

DANGER. May be corrosive to metals. Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.  Very toxic to aquatic life. Contact with acids liberates toxic gas. Keep out of reach of children. Do not breathe mist/vapours/spray. Avoid release to the environment. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.
IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove/take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower.
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTRE or a doctor/physician. Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed
