Use for Tricalcium Phosphate:
- Ceramic materials.
- Manufacture of cleaning and polishing compounds.
- In the production of phosphoric acid and fertilisers.
- A release agent in nonferrous metal casting.
In the Pottery industry it is an essential constituent of bone china, imparting the characteristic translucency. Also used as a secondary flux in glazes giving a milky quality. Its use in large quantities reduces plasticity and workability. It is therefore more suitable for slip casting processes.
