SILICONE EMULSION
60% active
Non-Ionic Base
A silicone emulsion 60% in nonionic base is a stable water-based emulsion containing approximately 60% active silicone oil (polydimethylsiloxane, PDMS) dispersed in water with the help of nonionic surfactants. It appears as a milky-white to translucent fluid
A silicone emulsion concentrate which is designed to allow formulators to prepare a range of different strength products, from a single feedstock, to exact customer requirements, by simply mixing with water in the appropriate ratio. Stable emulsions down to 15% solids are easily prepared to order, using standard paddle or propeller stirrers.
Diluted products from concentrate, are frost-stable, avoiding the risk of spoilage from freezing conditions during shipment.
Derivatives are primarily intended for use by heat set web offset printers, to retexturise the printed paper, lubricate passage of the web without marking of the printed surfaces and to control static charge.
The nonionic base makes it:
-
Compatible with anionic and cationic systems
-
Stable over a wide pH range
-
Less reactive in complex formulations
Key Properties:
-
Excellent slip, lubricity, and water repellency
-
Non-greasy, smooth feel
-
Provides shine, anti-stick, anti-foam, or protective properties depending on application

1. Mold Release Agent
-
For rubber, plastics, concrete, and die casting
-
Non-staining, clean release, especially where food-contact-safe versions are used
2. Car Care Products
-
Tyre dressings, interior polishes, dashboard sprays
-
Adds shine, water resistance, and dust repellency
3. Textile & Leather Finishing
-
Lubricant for sewing thread
-
Softener or water-repellent for fabrics
-
Enhances tear strength and drape
4. Concrete & Construction
-
Surface sealer or formwork release agent
-
Improves water resistance and surface finish
5. Antifoam / Defoamer
-
Used in water treatment, paper making, or food industry at low % levels
-
Can be diluted and dosed into foamy aqueous systems
6. Lubricants and Polish Bases
-
For conveyor belts, packaging lines, household cleaners
-
Used in furniture polishes, floor cleaners, metal lubricants
Dilution & Use
-
Usually diluted to 5–20% silicone depending on the application
-
For defoaming: used at 0.1–0.5% active in the final product
-
For mold release: applied at 5–15% dilution, often sprayed
Stability & Handling
