This results in a non-ionic surfactant that can effectively mix oil and water.

Key Properties:

1. Chemical Structure: The base structure is castor oil, a triglyceride composed of glycerol and ricinoleic acid. The ethoxylation process attaches ethylene oxide chains to the hydroxyl groups of the ricinoleic acid in castor oil, making it more soluble in water.
