Magnesium sulphate heptahydrate is a soluble crystalline compound with many applications. It is a type of salt and mineral which is found in the geological environment. This grade is for industrial and agricultural applications.
Industrial Uses for Magnesium sulphate:
- Water Treatment: Used in industrial wastewater treatment to adjust magnesium balance.
- Textile Industry: Acts as a dye-fixing agent and helps improve fabric quality.
- Paper & Pulp Processing: Used to enhance bleaching processes and stabilize pulp.
- Construction: Mixed with cement to improve durability and reduce shrinkage.
- Leather & Tanning Industry: Assists in softening and preserving leather.
- Chemical Production: Used as a raw material in magnesium-based chemicals.
- Fireproofing Agent: Incorporated in flame-retardant materials.
Agricultural & Fertiliser Uses for Magnesium sulphate:
- Soil Amendment: Corrects magnesium deficiency in crops.
- Foliar Spray: Mixed with water for direct nutrient absorption by plant leaves.
- Hydroponics & Greenhouses: Maintains nutrient balance in soilless growing systems.
- Crop-Specific Uses:
- Enhances chlorophyll production in leafy greens.
- Improves yield & quality in potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and citrus.
- Strengthens root growth in legumes and grains.
Application Methods:
- Soil Application: 10-25 kg per hectare (depending on deficiency levels).
- Foliar Spray: 1-2% solution (10-20g per liter of water).
- Drip Irrigation: Dissolved into irrigation water for controlled nutrient delivery.
